Live poker is rigged
I saw some of the worst beats put on in a long session of 300/600 1/2 plo 1/2 nlh in bobby's room. The table was absolutely amazing and I ended up winning 350K which is a good result after being down 200K. Not only was the lineup incredible soft but 1/2 the table was no just drunk but wasted. Nenad Medic kept falling asleep at the table after a joining us at about 5AM coming straight from the bars. Ilari Fin, Ziigmund, was also in the game and drinking heavily as well. He was also playing extremely aggressively raising and reraising every third pot. I don't think I have seen someone who was as inebriated as Ilari was win so much money. He just couldn't lose a pot; here are some of the hands...
In holdem rotation Ilari opened on the button to 2100 like he had done a million times and Kenny "The Kid" repot him to 8200. Kenny had about 80K and Ilari covered. Ilari called and the flop came 952 rainbow. Kenny led for 14K and Ilari shoved. Kenny snap called with aces and Ilari had 84 for no pair and no draw. Turn 3 river was an ace and Ilari won the 160K pot.
In another hand it was folded to Ilari in the small blind where he raised to 2100. Ralph Perry reraised to 10K (120K effective stack) from the big blind and Ilari shoved. Ralph thought for a long long time before finally calling with two jacks. Ilari had A2o and the river was an ace giving him the 1/4 million dollar pot.
One final hand I opened from the cutoff with KT98 with K high spades and was cold called by Kenny on the button and Ilari from the cutoff. The flop came 932 rainbow. Ilari led for 6K I thought a bit really felt like I had the best hand and instead of raising decided to call as Ilari was bluffing a ton. I was planning on calling down as long as an A or 5 didn't hit as I felt that was a very wide part of his range. The turn brought a 7 as well as a flush draw. He lead again for 18K and again I thought of raising with top pair and the straight draw but again decided to call a river that wasn't an A or 5. The river came a 7 and again he lead for 50K. I called and was shown KT74r. It's really hard in omaha to have someone drawing that badly. He needed running 7's, 4's, or a 7 4 to beat me. This was a very frustrating hand for me as I played to maximize my expectation. I realize that by doing this I increased the likely hood of being sucked out. It was just so annoying because he had won many other pots in similar fashion (his KQ vs my AK on a AQ4r flop with him rivering a Q). Anyways I can't complain as the day ended very well for me and I plan on playing more in a few hours but dearly need some sleep.
